Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent scattering of a toner to improve the efficiency of the vessel replacing work, by closing the aperture of a waste toner vessel by a scooping member when the waste toner vessel provided with the scooping member is taken out from a cleaning device. CONSTITUTION:A waste toner vessel 5 is stored freely attachably and detachably in a cleaning device 10 provided with a cleaning blade 3, and a scooping member 4 whose one side a thin film scooping sheet 41 is fixed to is turned around a pin P. The toner scraped off by the blade 3 is dropped along the surface of the sheet 41 and is stored in the vessel through an aperture 51 of the vessel 5. When the vessel 5 full of the waste toner is taken out from the machine, the scooping member 4 is turned counterclockwise to close the aperture 51. Consequently, the vessel 5 full of the waste toner is attached to or detached from the cleaning device 10 in the closed state, and thus, the toner is not scattered to perform the work easily and efficiently.

In a known electrostatic copying machine that transfers an image formed by toner on the surface of a moving photoreceptor to transfer paper, residual toner remaining on the photoreceptor after transfer is removed so that it does not interfere with the next copying operation. It is well known that cleaning equipment is not provided for this purpose because it is necessary to remove the dust sufficiently. There have been many proposals for cleaning devices, but one that uses a cleaning blade and scooping sheet, as shown in Figure 1, is simple and effective in removing residual toner. It is widely used because it provides

The scooping sheet is made of a relatively soft material such as a thin film of synthetic street grease, and is placed in close contact with the photoreceptor in the area upstream of the cleaning blade where residual toner exists, so toner does not adhere to it. Because it solidifies, local deformation and wear occur due to long-term use, resulting in deterioration of mNQ, it is necessary to clean or replace it as necessary. Furthermore, when the container for storing waste toner is full of waste toner, it is necessary to take it out of the machine and either use the container or discard the toner and load it into the cleaning device.

The waste toner container disposed inside the cleaning device has an opening for storing the toner scraped by the blade through a scooping sheet, so it can be used during cleaning, loading, etc. as described above. Toner leaks from this opening,
The inconvenience of scattering and staining the inside and outside of the copying machine could not be avoided.

The present invention has been made in view of the drawbacks of the known cleaning devices as described above, and the present invention combines a waste toner container and a scooping member including a scooping sheet, and when the waste toner container is taken out from the cleaning device. The purpose of the present invention is to improve the conversion efficiency of the container by configuring the scooping member to close the opening of the waste toner container to prevent the above-mentioned defects as much as possible. It is something.

FIG. 1 is a side sectional view showing the structure of a cleaning device according to the present invention, in which a cleaning device designated by reference numeral 10 is disposed adjacent to a cylindrical photoreceptor 1 rotating in the direction of the arrow in the figure. The cleaning device 10 includes a casing 2, and a cleaning blade 6 is attached to the upper side of the casing 2. The free end of the cleaning blade is always pressed against the surface of the photoconductor to scrape off residual toner on the surface. shall be dismissed. Inside the casing 2 is a toner container 5.
is stored in a removable manner. An opening 51 is formed on the top surface of the container 50, and a scooping member 4 is rotatably disposed on the edge of the surface of the container 50 on the side closer to the photoreceptor 1.

As is clear from the figure, the scooping member 4 extends along the edge of the waste toner can in the direction of the container (perpendicular to the plane of the paper), and has a cross section shaped like a Japanese character. A thin film-like scooping sheet 41 as described above is fixed to one side, and the other side has falling portions 42 at both ends (only one of them is shown in the figure). Each lowering portion 42 is pivotally connected to a proper position on the side wall of the waste toner container 5 by means of a bottle P, and the scooping member 4 is rotatable about the pin P. A protrusion 44 is further formed on at least one end of the other side of the scooping member 4, and a falling capital 46 is provided in this portion.
A coil spring 6 is suspended in tension between the falling portion 46 and a pin 54 provided on the side wall of the container 5.

As can be seen from FIG. 1, the scooping member 4, which is rotatably attached to the container 5, has a tendency to rotate clockwise in the figure due to the action of the coil spring 6.
It is assumed that the free end of the scooping sheet 41 is maintained in this position by the stopper action of the upper right end portion 56 shown in the figure, and at this time, the free end of the scooping sheet 41 is in contact with the surface of the photoreceptor in a desired state. Therefore, in this state, the residual toner on the surface of the photoconductor is at the position of the scoop sheet 41 as the photoconductor travels, and then passes through this and is scraped off from the photoconductor at the position of the cleaning blade 6, and this toner is removed from the surface of the scoop sheet. It falls along the path, passes through the opening 51, and is stored in the container 5.

When the container 5 is filled with waste toner or when the scoop sheet 41 needs to be cleaned or replaced and these parts are taken out of the copying surface, the copying machine side lid and, if necessary, the side wall of the casing 2 are opened. After exposing the side of the container 5, the protrusion 4 formed on the scoop member 4
4, and remove the rake member 4 against the action of the coil spring.
is rotated counterclockwise around the bottle P, and brought to the position of the wholesale line in Figure 1. As is clear from the figure,
Since stoppers 52 are formed at both ends of the opening 51 of the container 5 (only one of them is shown in the figure), the one side of the scoop member 4 comes into contact with the stopper and the member stops. , is stably maintained in this position by a snap action by the coil spring at position 61.

At this time, as shown in FIG. 1, the scooping member 4 including the scooping sheet 41 is configured to close the opening 51 of the container 5. Therefore, in this state, it is possible to draw out the paper 5 out of the copying machine with the scoop member 4 keeping the opening 51 closed.

Since this invention is generally configured as described above,
Since the container 5 filled with waste toner can be attached to and removed from the cleaning device in a sealed state, there is no risk of the toner in each container spilling out or scattering even if the container is handled somewhat roughly during loading and unloading, making the work easier and more efficient. Can be carried out.

Furthermore, since the container and the scooping member are integrated, and the scooping sheet surface that guides the waste toner in the operating position is located on the inner side 1 when the opening 51 is closed, the two are separate bodies. There is no fear that the waste toner remaining on the surface of the scoop sheet inside the cleaning device will move and stain the surrounding area due to vibrations, shocks, etc. when loading and unloading the container, unlike the conventional cleaning device.

Furthermore, since the container and the scooping sheet can be replaced as a unit, the work efficiency of replacement is improved. Furthermore, as is clear from the configuration shown, it can be implemented by adding a coil spring to this well-known neck cleaning device and making slight design changes, making it low cost and extremely practical. be.
