Abstract

PURPOSE:To adjust the disposition of anodes easily in optimum positions and to improve the workability and efficiency of an electrolytic cell, by providing a pair of supporting legs at both ends of a supporting trough which holds an electrode support, projecting the supporting legs from the bottom of the cell and applying thrust from the outside of the cell. CONSTITUTION:In a radial cell type electrolytic cell, a supporting trough 7 is placed on an inclined receiving base 9 which guides the forward and backward movement of an electrode support 5, and a pair of supporting legs 10 are provided at both ends of the trough 7. The supporting legs are projected from the bottom of the cell by way of sealing means. Thrust is applied to the projecting ends by using operating devices 11 such as liquid pressure cylinders or jacks. The disposition of the anodes is thus adjusted according to the change in the width of a metallic strip 2 or the fluctuations of electrolyzing conditions, whereby the electricity conducting gaps are easily and adequately matched.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a radial cell anode adjustment cap, in particular a consumable electrode that is updated successively to compensate for a decrease in wall thickness due to K dissolution in an electrolytic solution. Ill'! maintains the mounting position during the dt clearing process and guides the forward movement during updating. ! The purpose of the present invention is to propose an anode-width device for simply adjusting the positioning and holding of an electrode support under the transmission and conduction of large currents.

In general, radial cell type electrolyzers are used in continuous galvanizing lines of IJ tubes (for example, for cold-rolled sheets of metal), and at temperatures below K711i, with extremely high efficiency. In order to meet this requirement, a rotating drum with a large outer diameter for energization is immersed in the plating solution for half a circumference in the tank, and a metal strip is introduced inside and outside the tank via a deflector roll outside the tank. Then, it is pulled out and wrapped around the outer circumference of the energizing rotating drum so as to pass through the heat-distilled plate.
During this time, the plating liquid is passed through the anode, which is placed facing the metal strip in the radial direction of the rotating drum, and is used to apply a large amount of current. be done.

In this case, since electrolysis is performed only on one side of the +7 plate, it is advantageous for so-called single-sided plating, where only one side is plated and the other side is left untreated. However, in this type of large-scale ME, a tremendous amount of power is input, so it is important to keep the above-mentioned energization gap as small as possible in order to reduce and suppress the ineffective power consumption. K is also important.

By the way, in normal electroplating, there are cases in which an insoluble electrode is used as an anode, and cases in which gold to be plated is used as a soluble electrode, and in the latter case in particular, maintenance and management of the plating solution is carried out from the anode. It is convenient because it can be expected to constantly replenish the plating metal components, and there is little gas generation on the electrode surface, so it is particularly suitable for applications where a large amount is poured quickly and thick plating is performed.

However, in this case, the anode elutes as plating progresses, the current carrying gap gradually expands due to the decrease in the wall thickness, and the current density gradually decreases due to the increase in the current carrying resistance there.
As a result, the amount of plating adhered to K decreases linearly. Therefore, in the above-mentioned plating method using a soluble electrode, it is necessary to sequentially correct the expansion of the current conduction gap in response to wear of the electrode over time.

Conventionally, in order to correct this energization gap sequentially, a large number of consumable electrode pieces, each of which has an arcuate shape and partially surrounds the energizing rotating drum in one disassembly tank, are sequentially moved along the cylindrical generatrix of the energizing rotating drum. This sequential movement is guided by a sloped guide that brings the electrode piece closer to the energizing rotating drum every l pitch, and this guide also It is also useful for supplying power throughout the anode, which is made up of a group of electrode pieces. This guide is often referred to as an electrode support.

Therefore, by sequentially moving the consumable electrodes, including the steps of attaching and detaching a new consumable electrode from one side of the energizing rotating drum and a worn out consumable electrode from the other side, the anode is updated one by one with correction of the energizing gap. .

This electrode support must be precisely positioned at the bottom of the IEW4 tank to properly hold the current-carrying gap under the successive updates of the anode, so conventionally this electrode support is mounted firmly on the bottom of the tank. V on the fixed pedestal
It is held as shown in Fig. 1, 1a) and 1(b), through a supporting trough made of an L-shaped steel core with grooves facing upward. In the figure, 1 is a rotating drum for energization, and 1 is a metal strip running submerged inside the electrolytic tank T along the lower half of the drum.
Reference numeral 8 denotes an anode consisting of a horizontally arranged group of consumable electrodes facing the metal strip 2 in the radial direction of the rotating drum IK with a current-carrying gap G in between. A protrusion 4 is formed at the center of the back of each consumable electrode piece 8', sandwiching the axis of the serial rotary drum 10 and opposing the front and back of the metal strip dipping plate shown by the arrow in the figure. The electrode support 50a and the filter surface 6Vca are locked so as to be movable sequentially, and the electrode support 50a and the support support 8 are securely mounted by a fixed pedestal 8 installed on the bottom of the tank via the supporting trough.
