Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、フェアリングを備えた自動二輪車におけるヘ
ッドライトシールド装置に関する。
従来、フェアリングを備えた自動二輪車において、フェ
アリング本体に、前面を開放し内部にヘッドライトを収
容するライトノ・ウジングを一体に形成し、このライト
ノ・ウジングの開放面をガラス製の透明シールド板によ
り閉鎖してなるヘッドライトシールド装置が知られてい
る。しかしながら、この従来装置においては、透明シー
ルド叛を構成するガラスが比較的高い熱伝導率を有する
ため、外気温が急激に低下したとき、透明シールド叛か
もライトハウジング内の空気が急冷されて露点に達し、
透明シールド版の内面を曇らせることがあり、これを防
止するために、一般にはライトハウジングの側壁に通気
孔を設けているが、その通気孔は、それを通して外部か
らライトハウジング内に塵埃等が侵入するのを多少とも
許す欠点がある。
本発明は上記に鑑み、透明シールド版をガラスより熱伝
導率の低い合成樹脂製とすると共に、ライトハウジング
には通気孔を設けず、その内部を密閉室として、外気温
の低下によるも、透明シールド根かもライトノ・ウジン
グ内の空気が急冷されて露点に達することを防止すると
共に、ライｌ−ノ・ウジング内へのＵμ埃等の侵入を阻
止することができる、簡単有効な前記装置を提供するこ
とを目的とする。
以下、図面により本発明の一実施例について説明すると
、第１図において自動二輪用ＡＩはフェアリングＦを備
えており、それは車体フレーノ、の適所に固着されて計
器盤Ｄ、操向ノ＼ンドル、燃料タンクＴ等を前方より覆
うフェアリング本体Ｆａと、その上端に結合された透明
のウィンドシールドｔ？ｂとより構成され、これらはい
ずれも合成樹脂より成形されている。
第２図に示すように、上記フェアリング本体Ｆａの前部
には、その前面を内方に四人して、通気孔の無いライト
ハウジング１が形成され、このライトハウジング１内で
ヘッドライトユニット２が任意の支持手段により支持さ
れる。このヘッドライトユニット２は従来普通のように
ヘッドライトバルブ３を内蔵している。
ライトハウジング１の前面開口部は、一般に熱伝導率が
ガラスよりも遥かに低い合成樹脂より成形された透明シ
ールド＆５により閉鎖され、これによりライトノ・ウジ
ング１の内部は密閉室とされる。
透明シールド叛５の合成樹脂材料としては、透明度が良
好で且つ衝撃強度の高いポリカーボネート樹脂が適当で
あり、これの熱伝導率をガラスと比較すると下表の通り
である。
上記透明シールド板５は、第２〜５図に示すように、ゴ
ム等よりなる弾性保持部材８を介してライトハウジング
１に着脱自在に取付けられるもので、次にその構造を説
明すると、ライトハウジング１の開口周縁には環状の段
部１αが凹設さね、この段部１ａに、その深さと略等間
の厚さを持つゴム等よりなる環状の弾性保持部材８が嵌
込まれ、したがって、フェアリング本体Ｆａと弾性保持
部材８とはそれらの外面を連続させろことができる。
弾性保持部材８は横断面チャンネル形に成形され、ライ
トハウジング１中心に向って開口するＵ字溝９を挟んで
対向する前後一対の挟持片１０゜　５− １１を備えており、その後部の挟持片１１が適所（図示
例では４個所のコーナ一部）において段部１ａの平坦面
と、それにビス１２により固着される押え板」３とによ
り挟持される。その際、押え板１３およびビス１２の頭
部は第４図に示すようにＵ字溝９の内側面より没入され
る。この弾性保持部材８のＵ字樹９において透明シール
ド板５の外周部が一対の挟持片ｔｏ、ｉｉにより弾力的
に挟持され、その際シールド叛５のＵ字溝９への挿入は
、第５図に鎖線で示すように前部の挟持片１０を前方へ
倒してＵ字溝９を広げることにより容易に行うことがで
きる。したがって、透明シールド＆５のＵ字溝９かもの
取外しも同様の要領で行えばよい。
以上のように本発明によれば、フェアリング本体と一体
に形成したライトハウジングの前方開放面を合成樹脂製
の透明シールド板により閉鎖し、＝　６− 前記ライトハウジング内部を密閉室としたので、外気温
が急激に低下する場合でも、上記透明シールド板の熱伝
導率が従来のガラス製のものに比べ遥かに低いことから
、ハウジング内部の空気が露点に達するまで急冷される
ことがなく、したがって透明シールド根内面の曇りを防
止することができ、その上、ライトハウジングには通気
孔が無いので、その内部への塵埃等の侵入の心配もなく
、また構造が簡単となる。
また、合成樹脂製透明シールド板は、ガラス製のものに
比べ非常に軽量であるから、カウリング全体の軽量化に
も役立つと共に、透明シールド板に対する支持強度を下
げ得てその支持構造の簡素化をも図ることができる。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 自動二輪車（ＡＩ　）のフェアリング本体（Ｆα）に、
    前面を開放し内部にヘッドライトユニット（２）を収容
    するライトハウジング（１）を一体に形成し、このライ
    トハウジング（１）の開放面を合成樹脂よりなる透明シ
    ールド板（５）により閉鎖し、前記ライトハウジング（
    １）内部を密閉室とした、自動二輪車におけるヘッドラ
    イトシールド装置。
