Next, electroplating is performed using the transparent electrode film 8 as a cathode, gold is deposited on the exposed transparent electrode film 8 to form an electrode pattern 5t as shown in FIG. 1(D), and the resist 4 is peeled off (
(See Figure 1 (B)). Next, a resist (not shown) is attached to the entire surface of the substrate l, covering the transparent electrode film 8 and the electrode pattern 5, and after exposing and developing the resist, the transparent electrode 1118t is etched using the resist pattern as a mask.
As shown in Figure (F), a transparent electrode pattern 6 is formed. This state is shown in a plan view in FIG. 2, in which one end of the striped transparent electrode patterns 6 arranged in parallel in the X direction is led out of the cell region indicated by a two-dot chain line. Further, a plurality of transparent electrode patterns 6 are formed into one group, and one end thereof is alternately led out for each group, and a pattern 6a on which a drive element is mounted and a pattern Gbffi which is an external connection terminal is opposed to the led out end. An electrode pattern 5 is formed simultaneously on the surfaces of the patterns 6a and 6b and one end of the pattern 6. Next, a polyamide resin or the like is deposited to a thickness of several hundred meters on the transparent electrode pattern 6 in the cell area, and this is subjected to seven molecular alignment treatment to form an alignment film 9t as shown in FIG. 1(G).
