Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the length of a torsion bar without degradating return force and improve the degree of freedom in its design by providing the torsion bar into two, fitting one bar in the hollow section of the other bar, and divising the installation method of each bar. CONSTITUTION:In a suspension in which the inner end of an upper arm 3 whose wheels are mounted on an outer end is mounted on a car body through a torsion bar 12 so as to freely swing, the torsion bar 12 consists of the first torsion bar 13 and the second torsion bar 15 at the center of which the same bar 13 is fit so as to freely revolve, in lots. One end 13a of the bar 13 is mounted on the inner end of an arm 3 through a mounting member 16 by means of serration connection and the other end 13b is connected to one end 15a of a bar 15 by serration connection. Besides, the other end 15b of the bar 15 is mounted on the side frame 9 of the car body through a return angle adjusting means 19 consisting of a connecting lever 17 and an anchor bolt 18 and a bracket 120.
