Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an electromagnetic flowmeter having simple structure and being easy to mount and inexpensive, by arranging an exciting part in the rectangular direction to the lateral side of a measuring channel part having an electrode. CONSTITUTION:The measuring channel part 21 is formed in the shape of a column having a fluid channel 22 provided with the electrode 20, and the ?-shaped core 12 of the exciting part 11 is arranged to take the rectangular direction to the fluid channel 22 so that the tip parts 14 and 15 of the sides of the core in a pair penetrate into the central part of the measuring channel part 21 so as for a nonmagnetic head part 16 to face the fluid channel 22. The core 12 is provided with an exciting coil 13 at the middle side part thereof. The electromagnetic flowmeter thus composed is inserted for connection between a pair of flanges 102 provided in the meddle of a piping 101, and an electromotive force proportional to the velocity of flow, which is generated by the interaction between the fluid and a magnetic flux generated by the exciting part 11 and impresed perpendicularly on the conductive fluid in the fluid channel 22 through the core 12 and through the intermediary of magnetic poles 14 and 15, is taken out from the electrode 20. By this constitution, the electromagnetic flowmeter having simple structure and being easy to mount and inexpensive is obtained.
