Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the intergranular corrosion resistance of "Inconel 600 alloy " by specifying the temp. and time of soln. heat treatment.
CONSTITUTION: When Inconel 600 alloy (75Ni-15Cr-8Fe) is subjected to soln. heat treatment, considering the treating temp. to be T°C and the treating time to be (t)hr, the treatment is carried out under conditions satisfying 18,260/T≤log t+ 1,200. By the soln. heat treatment under the specified conditions the alloy holds the intergranular corrosion resistance even after stress relief annealing.
