CONSTITUTION:The signal amplified by an intermediate frequency circuit 2 is inputted to not only an AM detector 3 and am amplitude limiting circuit 6 but also a control circuit 5. The circuit 5 has a circuit which discriminates a point where the carrier wave of a receiving signal influences the degree of stereo separation and S/N, and the circuit 5 is so operated that the signal transmission line of the amplitude limiting circuit 6 is cut off when the carrier level becomes lower than this point. Consequently, at this time, the difference signal is not demodulated, and only the AM detected sum signal is applied to an adding and subtracting circuit 9, and the same sum signal appears at output terminals 10 and 11 of the circuit 9, thus performing monaural AM receiving.
