Abstract

PURPOSE: To shut off the supply of fuel and thus economize fuel consumption by opening a valve installed inside a bypass suction pipe when stepping down on a brake pedal at a vehicle speed more than specified during speed reduction.
CONSTITUTION: An ambient air intake pipe 4 is installed in such a way that it bypasses a carburetter 3 and is communicated to an air cleaner 2 and a suction manifold 5. Inside the air intake pipe 4 is provided an ambient air intake valve 6 which is communicated to a piston 8 which can make a sliding motion inside a cylinder 7. The air inside a compression air chamber 10 is introduced into the cylinder 7 when a solenoid valve 12 is energized, thus opening the valve 6. A signal of a stepping switch 15 for a brake pedal 14 and a signal of a propeller shaft rotary pickup 17 are transmitted into a solenoid switch controller 18 which is electrically connected to the solenoid 12. When the brake is stepped down on at a vehicle speed greater than specified, the solenoid 12 is energized.
