Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the unevenness of oil pickup and increase the amount of an oiling agent to be applied, by applying a specific voltage to synthetic multifilaments with an electrode provided after an oiling roller, and opening the multifilaments to stabilize the contact between the multifilaments and the roller.
CONSTITUTION: An electrode 3, preferably a rod-like or platy electrode, made of an electrically conductive ceramic, and having the abrasion resistance, elongating in the direction at a right angle to the running direction multifilaments is provided after an oiling roller 1, and a voltage of 2W15kV, preferably 5W8kV, is applied thereto. Synthetic multifilaments (Y), e.g. a polyester, are melt spun, and an oiling agent is applied to the multifilaments (Y) on the roller 1.
