Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the corrosion resistance power of iron and its alloy electrodeposited with a zinc-manganese alloy by contg. zinc and manganese salt, monobasic acid and oxypolybasic acid and its compound, ammonium salt and boric acid in an electrodepositing bath.
CONSTITUTION: An electrodepositing bath contg. zinc and manganese salt, monobasic acid as a complex salt forming agent, oxypolybasic acid and its compound, ammonium salt and boric acid is prepd. An easy to rust iron or iron alloy blank material is suspended in this electrodepositing bath and its pH is kept at about 2.6, where said material is electroplated. The plating layer obtd. by the above-mentioned method is free from crazing, pinholes and the like, is highly ductile and has excellent corrosion resistance.
