Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance an effect in separating suspended materials from a screen, prevent a passage area for a gas from being reduced and procure a constantly fixed gas circulation amount by a method wherein the material adhered to a screen is separated by spraying a fluid to the screen from the downstream side.
CONSTITUTION: When a hot gas containing the suspended material is fed into the removing device 11 for the suspended material through a feeder 10 and passes through the screen 13, the suspended material is trapped by the screen 13. When a certain amount of the suspended material is adhered to the screen, an outlet damper 15 is closed and an outlet damper of other removing chamber is opened so as to change over the removing chamber for passing the hot gas, and the suspended material adhered to the screen 13 is removed by the hot gas introduced through a feed port 22. The material thus removed falls into the feeder 10 and is fed back again into a rotary kiln type volume-reducing device 1. The hot gas used to clear out the suspended material flows into the feeder 10, and is used by circulating it as a hot gas for the volume-reducing device 1 through the other removing chamber.
