Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the reuse of each gas component contained in an exhaust gas by providing devices used for absorbing and desorbing carbon dioxide in back and front of a condenser, and separating the gas component such as hydrogen, carbon dioxide and steam from the exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:Each of devices 1 and 2, which are used for absorbing and desorbing carbon dioxide, consists of an adsorbent chamber 5, a vacant chamber 6, and a heating surface 4 placed between the chamber 5 and 6. The devices 1 and 2 are placed in front and back of a condenser 3. An exhaust gas 7 sent from a molten- carbonate fuel cell is passed through the vacant chamber 6 of the device 1, is introduced into the condenser 3, and is passed through the adsorbent chamber 5 of the device 2, thereby only hydrogen contained in the gas 7 being supplied to the anode of the fuel cell. An air 10 is passed through the vacant chamber 6 of the device 2, is introduced into the condenser 3, and is passed through the adsorbent chamber 5 of the device 1, thereby carbon dioxide being desorbed from the air 10 and supplied to the cathode of the fuel cell. Consequently, hydrogen contained in the exhaust gas 7 can be reused, carbon dioxide contained in the air 10 can be utilized for the cathode of the fuel cell, and the efficiency of the fuel cell can be enhanced.
