Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of collision loss and vortex loss of a blower by using an impeller provided with slant surfaces inclining in opposite directions to each other from the center of vortex flow generated at hollow spaces of the impeller to the respective open ends of blades of the inside diameter and outside diameter sides of an impeller.
CONSTITUTION: The open ends 17 of vanes 18 of an impeller 14 are provided with slant surfaces 20 and 21 having reverse slope respectively formed from the border of rotary center Q of a vortex flow 12. With this construction, the area of an open end surface 18c of the vane 18 is reduced on the flow inlet side by providing the slant surface 20, which males it possible to prevent the generation of collision loss, redcing the vortex flow which collides with the open end surface 18c. Since the vortex flow 12 flows into a hollow space 6 along the slant surface 20, the separation of the vortex flow 12 rarely occurs near the open end members 17, and the generation of a small vortex flow 12b is reduced on the rear surface 18b of the vane 18. Therefore, the generation of vortex flow loss due to this small vortex flow can be prevented.
