Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate the necessity for using an oil thrower ring and remove rubbing vibration in a turbine, by connecting its neighboring bearing boxes with a connecting cylinder that can change a distance between the bearing boxes through its sliding motion between neighboring bearing boxes.
CONSTITUTION: A connecting cylinder 52 is provided between the first low pressure part bearing box 50 and the second low pressure part bearing box 51. This connecting cylinder 52 is mounted to the first low pressure part bearing box 50 by a bolt 54 through a vertical flange 53, and the other end of the cylinder is contacted in a slidable state to a slide ring 55 located in an end of the second low pressure part bearing box 51 through an adequate distance M. In such constitution that the first low pressure part bearing box 50 and the second low pressure part bearing box 51 are connected by using the connecting cylinder 52, two oil thrower rings, conventionally provided in opposite sides to a casing of the first and second low pressure part bearing boxes, can be omitted, resulting in the removal of rubbing vibration.
