Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent brittle rupture by keeping Si, P, O in weld metal at below prescribed amts. by making combination use of a solid wire contg. prescribed amts. of C, Si, Mn, P, Cr, etc. and a flux having prescribed SiO2 and basicity. CONSTITUTION:Welding is carried out by combining a solid wire consisting of 0.04-0.15% C, <=0.1% Si, 0.3-1.6% Mn, <=0.012% P, 1-6% Cr, 0.4-1.3% Mo, 0.05-0.15% Ti by wt% and the balance Fe and a flux consisting of 10-30wt% SiO2 and 1.5-4 basicity expressed by (CaO+MgO)/SiO2(%). The Si, P, O in weld metal are set at <=0.1% Si, <=0.012 P, <=0.04 O.
