Abstract

PURPOSE:To operate a strong small-sized magnetic bearing through energy conservation by using superconductive coils as the exciting coils of the magnetic bearing and supplying a refrigerant and exciting power to the superconductive coil at the rotary side only when stopping the machine. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic bearing 1 is formed by the superconductive coil 1a at the fixed side mounted to a stator and the superconducting coil 1b at the rotary side set up to a shaft, and a rotor is axially supported. The refrigerant and the exciting power are supplied to the superconductive coil 1b at the rotary side only when stopping the machine, and the supply of the refrigerant and the exciting power is interrupted when operating the machine.
