Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the reliability by arranging an insulating stone constituting a collector between a casing held air-tightly against the inner collector electrode for cathcing the electron beam and forming into a plane thereby preventing the breakdown of insulation due to the tracking. CONSTITUTION:The electron beam projected from an electron gun will impinge against an inner collector electrode 7. A plurality of insulating stones 8 are placed between a vacuum-tight collector casing 9 to insulate the electrode 7 from the casing 9. In order to releave the distortion due to the differential thermal expansion between the electrode 7 and the casing 9, the insulating stone 8 is made of a plane. Since the insulated portion is placed in the vacuum, the insulating stone 8 is never contaminated by the dust in the atmosphere thereby the breakdown of the insulation due to the tracking can be prevented.
