Abstract

PURPOSE:To simply seal the liq. crystal injection hole part of a liq. crystal display device using plastic films as the panel substrates without deteriorating the quality of the liq. crystal panel in a short time by protruding the hole part and melt- bonding it by heating with an ultrasonic welder or the like after injecting the liq. crystal. CONSTITUTION:Upper and lower substrates 1, 2 are made of plastic film such as polyethylene terephthalate film, and they are sealed with a sealant 3 except the injection hole part 4. After injecting a liq. crystal, the protruded part 4 is sealed 5 with an ultrasonic welder. Thus, a coating process for sealing with an adhesive is made unnecessary, problems such as the deterioration of the liq. crystal due to the adhesive and the quality deterioration due to high temp. in case of soldering are not caused, and the sealing is conducted simply in a short time. When air is apt to enter the liq. crystal from the outside by ultrasonic vibration in the vicinity of the injection hole in case of one melt-bonded part, >=2 sealing parts 8, 9 are formed to prevent the penetration of air using the liq. crystal between the parts as a buffer.
