Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve rapid, precise measurement on online basis by providing an infrared-ray radiation thermometer, a scan type radiation thermometer, and a computer and by finding the accurate temperature of glass right after it is taken out of a furnace by making corrections by respective measured values. CONSTITUTION:A one-point type infrared-ray radiation thermometer 2 is arranged so that its photodetecting element 2a faces the center position 4 of plate glass 1. The thermometer 2, therefore, measures only the surface temperature at the center position 4. A scan type radiation thermometer 3 has a rotary hexagonal surface mirror 10; the surface of the glass 1 in the same horizontal surface of the glass 1 is scanned linearly and laterally through the operation of the mirror 10, and a detecting element 13 measures the temperature of the glass at the scanned surface part. The temperature measured value of each part of the glass 1 by the thermometer 3 is corrected by the CPU9 of a computer 6 by using a measured value obtained by the thermometer 2. Thus, the temperature of the plate glass 1, taken out of a furnace, is measured rapidly over the entire surface on online basis through the thermometers 2 and 3.
