Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent intrusion of carbon sludge etc. into the cooling lubricant contained in a rotor, which has a polygonal form and revolves in a rotary internal combustion engine in contact with its center casing's inner wall constituted by an epitrochoidal curve etc., by furnishing a passage which shall guide said cooling lubricant in the centripetal direction.

CONSTITUTION: The fluid in a rotor 1 as illustrated by the arrow moves centripetally from the insides of laminated walls 2, 3 through a guide member 4, which is in contact with said walls 2, 3 and leads the fluid to the inside of a flange-shaped member 5. The form of each laminated wall is constituted by permitting an epitrochoidal curve to make a rotary motion, and one of the walls 2, is furnished with an extended part 9 to guide the fluid flowing on the inner wall of piston head of the rotor centripetally to the centripetal sides of the laminated walls. The wall 11 in the radial direction is to check the fluid moving in the axial direction of the crank shaft and also works as a passage wall for guidance in the rotating direction of the rotor.
