CONSTITUTION:A silicon thin film provided on the surface of a calcogenide compound consists of a crystal or a non-crystal of silicon, and a polycrystalline thin film or an amorphous thin film of silicon, or a microcrystalline silicon thin film whose particle diameter is <= about 100Angstrom is desirable since the thin film can be prepared easily. This film is formed by means of vacuum vapor-deposition, ion plating, spattering, glow discharge, etc., and the desirable thickness of the film is 400Angstrom -5,000Angstrom .
