Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a cylindrical inductor by intergrally forming a member having a magnetic permeability lower than a ferrite core at each of both ends of the core wound with a coil and mounting electrodes on the surface of the members. CONSTITUTION:A lower die 2 is brought down lower than the surface of a mold 3, ferrite powder 4 having low mu is filled in the mold 3, and the powder is temporarily molded by an upper die 1. Then, the die 2 is similarly lowered, ferrite powder 5 having high mu is filled in the mold 3, and the powder is temporarily molded by the die 1. Subsequently, the die 2 is further brought again down further lower, the powder 4 is then filled in the mold, the powder is temporarily molded by the die 1, and a molded unit 7 is extruded by the die 2. The molded unit 7 is then baked to seize electrodes to the low mu ferrite layers at both ends, coils are wound on the high mu ferrite layer, the ends are soldered to the electrodes, metallic caps are press-fitted to both the ends, and the exposed coils are covered with resin to complete it. Since it is thus integrated, it has larger heat resistance strength at the time of soldering than a conventional bonding method of bonding nonmagnetic unit to a magnetic core adapted for mass production.
