Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce hot water economically by a method wherein when the hot water is produced by cooling high temperature heated water (or steam) obtained from a geothermal well, steam is separated from the high temperature heated water so as to drive a steam turbine for power generation and the resultant exhaust gas is condensed by air cooling.
CONSTITUTION: When hot water is produced, the high temperature heated water (or the steam) is obtained from the geothermal well 1 provided in a geothermal heat storage layer underground and is then transferred to a separation tank 4 through a pipe 3 with a valve 2. Then the heated water in the tank 4 is boiled at a low pressure so as to separate steam therefrom. The steam thus separated is supplied to a condensing steam turbine 6 through a pipe 5 to thereby operate the turbine for power generation. Further, the exhaust gas from the turbine 6 is transferred to an air cooling condenser 9 through a pipe 8 so that the steam is cooled and condensed to water. In this case, the condensed water is of a temperature suitable to serve as hot water for industrial or domestic use and is stored in a hot water tank 11.
