Abstract

PURPOSE:To make an ultrasonic signal processing circuit compact and improve the reliability thereof, by a method wherein signals are converted into digital signals and then written in a register, the timing to read out said signals is controlled to provide given delays to them, which are converted back to an analog signals. CONSTITUTION:The electric signals Vi1-ViN(N represents the number of signals) received by a probe are first converted into digital signals of, e.g., 4 bits by an A/D converter 210, and then written in a register 220 by means of write clocks Si1-SiN respectively. A memory (ROM)240 stores clock starting timing, different from each other, of 512X4 bits corresponding to 128 kinds of convergent position designating command in the angular direction and 4 kinds of convergent position designating commands in the depthwise direction. Thereby, the read-out timing of the content of the register 220 is controlled so that the signals reflected from the same position are read out at the same time. Thereafter, said signals are converted back to analog signals. By such a constitution, integration is made possible, and an ultrasonic signal processing circuit which is compact and highly reliable can be obtained.
