Abstract

PURPOSE: To diminish a fatigue of a reed valve for a longer service life by combining a suction bypass passage equipped with the reed valve with an air chamber disposed on the way of a suction passage connecting a combustion chamber and a suction passage.
CONSTITUTION: A supercharger 7 coinciding with an operation of an engine 1 is disposed on the way of a suction passage 5 connecting an air cleaner 6 and a combustion chamber. A reed valve 13 is equipped in a bypass passage 12, restricting an air flow to run from the air cleaner 6 to the combustion chamber. An air chamber 4 is disposed on the way of the suction passage 5, combined with the downstream side of the bypass passage 12. The air chamber 4 provides a means of lightnening pulsations transmitted from the supercharger 7 and the combustion chamber so that a fatigue of the reed valve 13 may be lessen due to a freedom from an undesired opening or closing motion.
