Abstract

PURPOSE:To analyze ammonia accurately by a method of analyzing ammonia in gas wherein sulfur trioxide coexists, by holding a sampling tube at >=250 deg.C and an acquisition part at <=180 deg.C. CONSTITUTION:A constant quantity of ammonia gas is mixed into waste gas in a flue 13 from an ammonia gas cylinder 15 through a flow meter 14. A sample gas sampling tube 1 is held at >=250 deg.C (higher than the production temperature of ammonium hydrogen sulfate), and the waste gas is introduced into a spiral tube 3 with a filter at a 2-4l/mm. through a vacuum pump 8. In the spiral tube, sample gas is held at <=180 deg.C and produced ammonium salt is stuck to the internal wall of the tube, thereby collecting gaseous ammonium in an absorption bottle 4. Thus, even if the waste gas contains sulfur trioxide, ammonia is analyzed accurately.
