Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a tough conductive core with good current collecting efficiency by providing a sintered fibrous iron layer with highly dense parts which intersect the fiber at given intervals, and densifying the end of the layer which parallels the fiber. CONSTITUTION:A continuous fibrous iron layer body 1 of 85-95% porosity is sintered in a reducing atmosphere to form a conductive core, on which a nickel plating of 2-15mu thickness is performed. After that, the body 1 is provided with highly dense parts 3 which intersect the fiber of the body 1 at given intervals, and a highly dense part 4 which is formed at the end of the body 1 parallels to the fiber of the body 1. A steel sheet 2 coated with a thin nickel plating is elecrically fused to the highly dense recessed part paralleling the fiber. Here, the thickness of the welding part is made smaller than that of a highly porous part 5.
