Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a copper alloy for electric conduction excellent in heat resistance and anticorrosion, by incorporating a specified quantity of Ag into Cu.
CONSTITUTION: When 0.005W1wt% of Ag is added to Cu, the heat resistance and anticorrosion can be improved without lowering the electroconductivity of the Cu. The reason why the amount of Ag is at least 0.005wt% is that if the quantity is below 0.005wt%, the effect with respect to the heat resistance and anticorrosion has not been obserbed, and if the quantity is above 1wt% it would not be practical in view point of the cost. Further, in addition to Ag, if one or more of Mg, Al, Si, Mn, In and rare earth elements are added in a quantity up to 2wt%, the heat resistance and anticorrosion would be additionally improved. However if the quantity exceeds 2wt%, the conductivity is remakably lowered.
