PURPOSE:To provide a pulse oscillator for a wwighing machine which is composed of a number wheel equipped with a permanent magnet for generating parallel magnetic field and another permanent magnet for generating orthogonal magnetic field and reed switches, and makes it easy to set the pitch of pulses by causing each of reed switches to generate pulses in response to only a designated magnetic field. CONSTITUTION:A number wheel 11 is equipped with a permanent magnet for generating parallel magnetic field 13 and another permanent magnet for generating orthogonal magnetic field 14. When the number wheel 11 rotates and the permanent magnet for generating parallel magnetic field 13 approaches a reed witch 16 which responses only to parallel magnetic field, the reed switch 16 is turned on and generates an electric pulse signal every time when the number wheel 11 makes a turn, and when the permanent magnet for generating orthogonal magnetic field 14 approaches a reed switch 15 which responses only to orthogonal magnetic field, the reed switch 15 is turned on and generates an electric pulse signal every time when the number wheel 11 makes a turn.
