Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent vapor lock by actuating a fuel pump alone prior to starting an engine so as to circulate fuel within a fuel system when the ambient temperature of the engine exceeds the specified value.
CONSTITUTION: Fuel in a fuel tank 1 is ejected by an fuel pump 2 into a fuel chamber 7 from a fuel ejection valve 6 via a fuel damper 3 and a filter 4. The fuel is regulated by a regulator 8 and excess fuel is returned back to the tank 1 through a pipe 9. A fuel supply pipe 5 is provided with a fuel temperature switch 17. When the engine is started with its fuel temperature exceeding the specified value, a pump 12 is driven by action of a relay 16. And the fuel is forced to flow through the damper 3, the filter 4, and the regulator 8 successively to the tank 1, so that the temperature within the fuel system may go down.
