Abstract
PURPOSE: To supply hot water under a uniform pressure to any of a large number of mixing cocks disposed at a washroom, a bathroom, and so on, by disposing a pressure regulating valve intermediately of pipes which connect the mixing cocks and a water heater.
CONSTITUTION: Communicating holes 12, 12', 28', 28 of a pressure regulating valve 5 communicate with a water heater, a hot water supply pipe 4, another hot water supply pipe 4', and a water supply pipe 3', respectively. A floating valve 8 having a main valve 6 and a sub valve 7 thereon is disposed in a branch valve chamber 11 which is provided with valve ports 9, 9' and a plurality of perforations 10. A valve rod 17 extending through a valve port 16 has a valve 18 mounted thereon for opening and closing the valve port 16. The valve rod 17 has a spring 22 mounted at one end thereof and has a diaphragm mounted at the other end thereof and disposed in a pressure resisting chamber 23. If a water supply cock of a mixing cock communicating with the hot water supply pipe 4' is opened, cool water is admitted to flow from the water supply pipe 3' into a branch chamber 27 in which the inner pressure is caused to be raised due to limitation by a regulator valve 26. The thus raised pressure then moves the diaphragm upwardly to open the valve 18. Consequently, hot water is supplied from the perforations 10 into the hot water supply pipe 4' through the valve ports 9, 16 and thus reaches the mixing cock.
