Abstract

PURPOSE: To coat resin on optical fiber at uniform thickness by making a resin container to concentric double container structure, connecting pressurized resin supply nozzle that communicates to outer container and making pressurized material flow to the center of a through-hole.
CONSTITUTION: Optical fiber 12 is passed in a through-hole 28 of the inner container 26 of a resin container 25. After adjusting positioning of fiber drawing line by a fine adjustment stand 14 so that it passes the center of the through hole, coating material 17 consisting of silicone resin, etc. is filled in the inner and outer containers 26, 27. Optical fiber that passes through the coating material in the through hole is always pushed to the center when pressurized coating material is jetted uniformly from a resin supply nozzle 29 to the center of the through-hole due to centripetal force of the coating material caused by passing and gas pressure introduced from a conduit 30. Thus, no deviation of drawing line occurs and coating of uniform thickness can be effected without eccentricity.
