PURPOSE:To reduce current consumption, by providing current breaking circuits, which break DC currents flowed from a power source to output and input buffers, in respective buffers. CONSTITUTION:When a signal SB2 is set to a low level, transistors TRs 32 and 35 in inverters 6' and 7' are turned off, and DC currents from a power source voltage VDD to a power source voltage VSS are not generated from inverters 6' and 7'. Next, when a signal SB1 is set to a low level, TRs 23, 26 and 29 and TRs 36 and 37 in inverters 3', 4', and 5' are turned off, and the DC current from the voltage VDD to the voltage VSS is not generated in the circuit consisting of inverters 3'- 5' and TRs 36 and 37. Consequently, a current consumption IOB in a output buffer OB is zero, and thus, an unused current consumption is reduced.
