Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the distortion of printed images due to variations of ink temperature and prevent the degradation of printing quality by a method wherein the ink temperature is detected and the oscillating frequency for a piezoelectric element of a printing head is changed. CONSTITUTION:The ink temperature is detected by an ink temperature detecting part 12 and a frequency controlling part 13 is operated. In this case, the frequency is elevated when the detection output of the detecting part 12 is high (the ink temperature is high), while it is lowered when the detection outpt is low (the ink temperature is low), and the frequency signal is fed to a piezoelectric vibrator 2 after amplifying the signal to a predetermined voltage required for oscillation. The vibrator 2 is oscillated to eject an ink column 3 and divides the ink column 2 into ink droplets 3' at an interval which is determined by the oscillating frequency and the flow of the ink. Accordingly, the mass of each of the ink droplets 3' is maintained at a substantially constant value, so that the distortion of printed images can be prevented even when the ink temperature is varied.
