Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the titled compsn. which gives light-weight tires having low rolling resistance, by blending two kinds of styrene-butadiene copolymer rubbers having different styrene contents together and then adding compounding agents such as carbon black and a vulcanizing agent to the resulting blended rubber.
CONSTITUTION: 10W60pts.wt. styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber having a styrene content of 15W20wt% is mixed with 90W40pts.wt. styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber having a styrene content of 20W30wt% to obtain 100pts.wt. blended rubber. Then carbon black, a vulcanizing agent, a vulcanization accelerator and other compounding agents are added to the blended rubber to produce the desired rubber compsn. for tire tread. In this way, there can be obtd. a rubber compsn. for tire tread, which gives tires having excellent braking performance on a wetted road surface, low rolling resistance and excellent wear resistance.
