Abstract

PURPOSE:To save number of components by using one current limit transistor (TR). CONSTITUTION:When output TRs 25, 27 are in class B or in the vicinity, a current flows only to one of resistors 32, 33 between the emitter and an output terminal 28 of the TRs 25, 27, depending on the polarity of a current flowing to a load connected to the output terminal (output current). Thus, a voltage across the resistor, that is, a voltage between the emitter and the emitter of the TRs 25, 27 is that proportional to the absolute value of the output current, independent of the polarity of the output current. A current limiting TR 38 can be operated when the absolute value is more than a given value independently of the polarity of the output current, by dividing the voltage through resistors 34, 35 and applying the result between the base and the emitter of the TR 38.
