Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption and enable to drive by a battery power source of small capacity, by supplying a drive current of each phase stator coil from a DC battery power source and controlling the drive current so as to be constant through a constant-current circuit. CONSTITUTION:A distributing circuit for excitation control 21 and a constant voltage circuit 22 are connected with a battery power source 4, while the stator coils phi1-phi4 are directly connected with the power source 4. Further the stator coils phi1-phi4 are connected with the transistors Q12-Q15 to be switched by the distributing circuit 21 respectively through the transistors Q4-Q11 of the constant current circuit 22. Consequently the drive current of the stators is supplied directly from the battery power source 4, while the constant voltage circuit 22 is limited to the constant current source for making the constant current so that the power consumption of the constant voltage circuit 22 can be made extremely small thus enabling to drive a stepping motor while minimizing the consumption of a small capacity battery built-in a camera and such.
