Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate manufacture, to simplify structure and to improve reliability by providing a transfer electrode which applies a driving voltage to a common electrode and by interposing a conductive material between the common electrode and transfer electrode. CONSTITUTION:On an electrode substrate 21 where a switch/capacitor array is formed, display electrode 23 are formed. In the figure, 30 is a common electrode substrate made of a transparent insulating substrate having a common electrode 29 made of a transparent conductive film, 31 is spacer and sealing parts, and 32 is liquid-crystal layer. Transfer electrodes 33 formed corresponding to the four corners of the display electrode substrate 30 are each led out to the end of the display electrode substrate 21 together with an address line 24 and a data line 25, and bonding pads 34 are formed. Further, 35 is a conductive material, such as silver paste, for the conduction between the common electrode 29 and transfer electrode 33, and 36 is an external circuit substrate.
