Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable to automatically change the direction of a device following to the position of the sun by a method wherein the solar energy collecting device is supported with supporting members which thermally deform in response to the intensity of solar heat.
CONSTITUTION: Both the end sides opposing each other of the solar water heater 1 are respectively supported with the supporting members 5a and 5b made of configuration memory alloy which thermally deforms in response to the intensity of solar heat. According to the structure described above, the supporting member 5a, which receives direct rays of the sun, contracts itself on a large scale while the other supporting member 5b, which does not receive direct rays of the sun by being shielded with the water heater 1, does not contract itself, resulting in tilting the water heater 1 so as to be able to utilize the solar heat effectively.
