Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the space cooling or heating capacity, by employing an arrangement capable of injecting a coolant into a cylinder only at a limited period during compression stroke of a reciprocating compressor.
CONSTITUTION: In a compressor shown in the drawing, a valve means consisting of a valve plate 30, spring 31 and portion for guiding the valve plate 30 is place in an injection passage 29 at one end thereof located on the side of a cylinder 3, in the manner that it can open and close the passage 29. That is, the valve means is opened by a high-pressure or medium-pressure coolant carried to the valve means, when pressure in the cylinder 3 is raised to a certain level after expansion stoke of the compressor. Here, the passage 29 is formed at such a position lower than the level where the valve means is forced to open by pressure in the cylinder 3 during expansion stroke of the compressor, so that the coolant is not injected into the cylinder during expansion stroke. Since the compressor of this invention is arranged as avobe, high-pressure or medium-pressure coolant can be injected into the cylinder 3 only during compression stroke without lowering the efficiency. At the same time, it is enabled to increase the capacity and efficiency of space cooling or heating by using the compressor of this invention in combination with a multiple effect cycle.
