Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a cast alloy with superior corrosion resistance and mechanical characteristics by adding a specified precentage of C, Si, Mn, Cr, Mo, Fe, etc. to Ni.
CONSTITUTION: An alloy consisting of, by wt., 0.02W0.1% C, ≤1.5% Si, ≤1.5 Mn, 14W21% Cr, 13W20% Mo, ≤6% Fe and the balance essentially Ni or further contg. ≥1 kinds among ≤0.5% Al, ≤1.0% Ti, ≤1.5% Nb, ≤0.5% V and ≤3.0% W is cast. This alloy has superior corrosion resistance at ≤ about 650°C, and any casting method can be applied to the alloy. By subjecting the alloy to solubilizing treatment at 1,100W1,200°C, carbide, intermetallic compound, segregation during solidification, etc. are diffused to form a uniform structure, thereby providing superior corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.
