Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:Compounds of formula I (R is methyl, ethyl; R', R" are H, methyl, ethyl).
EXAMPLE: Ethyl 2-acetylamino-4,5,5,-trifluoro-6-hydroxyhexanoate.
USE: Synthetic intermediate of fluorine-containing aminoacids. Intermediate of medicines and agricultural chemicals.
PREPARATION: The radical addition reaction between a compound of formula II and an alcohol or R'R"CHOH is effected under irradiation of high energy rays to give the compound of formula I. The compound of formula II is dissolved in the alcohol in an excess amount of 5W50 times the weight of the compound and the solution is irradiated with high-energy rays such as γ-rays at room temperature. The irradiation time depends on the dose rate and the kind of alcohol, however, usually several tens hours to several days. The objective compound is readily produced by the one-step process. The hydrolysis of the compound of formula I gives a fluorine-containing α-aminoacid bearing hydroxyl groups.
