Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the wire material for welding from tapering, in heating the same by passing electric current, by a method wherein a supply speed of said wire material in an annealing part is made faster than that of a supply machine thereof as well as a supply speed of a take-over machine is controlled so as to make torque thereof constant. CONSTITUTION:The wire material W is supplied to an annealing part B from a pay-off bobbin 1 through a supply machine to be annealed therein and wound on a bobbin 11 through a take-over machine 7. The annealing part B is constituted from a current supply part B1 comprising current supply rollers a-h and an air cooling part B2 comprising receiving rollers 6, 6'. At least one roller among rollers in the vicinity of a side of the air cooling part B2 in the current supply part B1 and rollers in the vicinity of a side of the current supply part B1 in an air cooling parts B2, for example, the current supply roller h or the receiving roller 6 is used as a drive roller and a supply speed thereof is made slightly faster than that of the supply machine 3. Further, a take-over speed of the take-over machine 7 is controlled so as to make torque thereof constant. Thereby, uniform and continuous annealing is carried out.
