Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform effective recovery of waste heat, reduction of a generated sludge amount and generation of sludge having a good dewatering property, with use of digestion gas generated in an anaerobic treatment.
CONSTITUTION: Crude sludge 1 is carried through the first heat exchanger 3 by a pump 2, and coverted into digestion gas A and digested sludge B by anaerobic treatment in a digestion vessel 4. The upper layer of the liquid is fed as a digestion effluent 6 to a water treatment system, while the digestion gas A is reserved through a desulfurizer 7 into a gas tank 8, fed to a boiler 9 by a blower 18 and used as a fuel. The digested sludge B is carried through the second heat exchanger 5 by a pump 10, converted into high temperture sludge C by treatment in a high temperature reaction vessel 11, and used for heating the sludge B in the heat exchanger 5 and preheating the crude sludge 1 in the first heat exchanger 3. In a concentration vassel 12, an upper layer liquid is discharged as an effluent D, while precipitating concentrated sludge is fed to a dehydrator 14. The resulting liquid phase part E may be merged into the effluent D and fed into the digestion vessel 4. Exhaust gas generated by the incineration of dewatered sludge F generates steam in a boiler 15, and the steam is used as a heat source for heating.
