Abstract

PURPOSE: To form air vent holes with reduced manhours and high precision without lengthening the drilling hole, by casting in one body a vent pipe facing to the atmosphere connecting cavity, and by drilling the air vent holes of a prescribed number to connect them after casting.
CONSTITUTION: An air vent pipe 5' of C-shaped steel pipe is inserted in with the molten metal at its connecting part while properly plugging two end openings of the dust preventive bendings 5" and burying them in the core. The air vent pipe 5' is set in the mold and the molten metal is cast in. And after knocking out the mold, the desired number of air vent holes 3, 3... are drilled from a formed surface 4 side at the ridgeline of a drawn stepped part 8 which is a part to easily gather air, and the air vent pipe 5" is connected. The bent part 5" of the air vent pipe is finally opened of its plug so as to connect the formed surface 4 to an inner cavity 7 via the air vent holes 3, 3... and air vent pipe 5.
