Abstract

PURPOSE: To insert a steel tube correctly into the axial center of casting roll, by disposing guide above and beneath a roll casting die, and inserting through the guides together with steel tube having floating and bending reventive treatment.
CONSTITUTION: First, on a sand mold 4 above a casting die 2 of a roll main body 1 is disposed an upper guide 6 in a roughly identical direction and at the same position as the central axis of the roll main body 1, and a lower guide 7 having a supporting recess hole 12 is disposed coaxially with the central axis of the roll main body 1 at the lower end of a chill block 3 at the lower end of the die 2. Then, a cover 13 is affixed to the end of a steel tube 5 to be inserted, and a steel bar 14 to prevent bending and floating is inserted in the inside. Right after casting, the said steel tube 5 is inserted through the upper guide 6 into the roll main body 1 being cast, and the cover 13 at the end is suppoted within the lower guide 7. Thus, the steel tube can be inserted correctly into the casting roll axial center position.
