Abstract
PURPOSE:To make available stable inspection with weak pulse light, by a method wherein a portion to be inspected is attracted to and maintained at the tip of a probe and a pressure wave or a sound wave produced by sending pulse light to the portion to be inspected is detected by a receiving element. CONSTITUTION:A portion 19 to be inspected is attracted to and maintained in an attracting portion 20 via a suction pipe 21 in the body 12 of a probe of an endoscope inserted into a living body 34. Pulse light is led to a radiating end 25 from an external light source and allowed to irradiate the portion under inspection. A pressure wave or a sound wave generated in the portion 19 under inspection is detected by an receiving element 26. Its output is amplified by a tuning amplifier and recorded in the recorder. By so doing, stable measurement becomes possible with weak pulse light.
