PURPOSE:To decrease the variation of output frequency even to the transient variation of load by limiting load current changing rate detecting signals given to a governor controller within a predetermined range. CONSTITUTION:An automatic voltage regulator 4 controls currents flowing through controlling winding 1c so that the output voltage of a generator 1 is kept to set value. An automatic frequency regulator 5 detects the deviation signals of the output frequency and set frequency of the generator 1 and a load current changing rate detector 13 a changing rate of the load currents of the generator 1, and the deviation signals and the changing rate through a limiter circuit 14 are given to the governor controller 10. Accordingly, the response capability of the control of the number of revolution can be quickened because the changing rate of the load currents is used as controlling signals, and the variation of the output frequency is small even to the transient variation of load because the signals are limited by means of a limiter circuit.
