Abstract
PURPOSE: To dissolve effect of turbulent flow and to make each nozzle wear uniformly, thus to improve level of operation by providing a cylindrical inflowing part for molten steel, which has bore diameter attains to larger than caliber of an inlet of a nozzle for controlling flow rate, in the upward side of said nozzle.
CONSTITUTION: In the upward side of a nozzle 1 for controlling flow rate, a cylindrical inflowing part 4 for molten steel, which has a bore diameter D attains to larger than caliber of an inlet of the nozzle 1, is provided. Further, the height of the part 4 and the caliber of the discharging part of the nozzle 1 are denoted as H and (d) respectively, than it is made to satisfy that 10≥D/d≥2 and H≥d. Thus, turbulence in the inflow of the molten steel is made to rectify in the hole of the nozzle 1, thereby melting losses caused onto the refractories of the nozzles are reduced considerably.
